UCEAP Global Day of Giving 2021
On May 20, the Global Day of Giving raised over $17,000 for scholarships to help UC students study abroad.
More than 160 generous donors offered gifts to support the next generation of students who take their educations worldwide.
The 24-hour fundraising drive encouraged friendly competition between alumni from different study abroad destinations. Leaderboard results include:
  • The Germany fund received the highest donations with over $3,600 raised.
  • After the Global Fund’s 29 donors, the France fund had the highest number of donations at 18.

Christina Brasfield
Christina Brasfield
Christina Brasfield has transitioned to a career employee with the Information Technology team. As a Full Stack Developer, Christina has played an active role in developing the Reciprocity and UCEAP websites and the UCEAP Portal. She has also played a key role in assisting with website analytics and DevOps related to UCEAP’s web presence.
Monica Hughes
Monica Hughes
Monica Hughes, Privacy and Compliance Analyst, has left UCEAP to join the Office of Global Engagement at UC Irvine as International Agreements Officer. Her last day with UCEAP was June 4. During her more than five years of service, Monica made significant and lasting contributions to UCEAP. The development of standardized agreement templates, contracts, and data privacy policies, procedures, and training resources created a solid compliance foundation for UCEAP to build upon. She also served as a valued member of numerous committees and work groups.
Hannah Irvine
Hannah Irvine
Agreements Coordinator Hannah Irvine has received the Dilling Yang Endowed Scholarship for 2020-2021.

Named after the wife of UCSB Chancellor Henry Yang, the Dilling Yang Staff Scholarship Program supports professional development for career staff. Scholarships may be used for registration and educational fees for courses, training, and other learning opportunities offered at UCSB.
Elizabeth Vasquez
Elizabeth Vasquez
Elizabeth Vasquez has joined the UCSB Education Abroad Program team. She is the Academic Integration Specialist and the Program Advisor for the University of California Washington Program (UCDC) and University of California Center in Sacramento (UCCS). Moving forward, the UCDC/UCCS programs will be managed by the UCSB EAP leadership team. Elizabeth was previously a College Site Coordinator for the UCSB Early Academic Outreach Program. She is a graduate of UCSB and had studied abroad on the UCEAP Spain program.
